Welcome to our website

Welcome to our website and to our four churches set in the rolling farmland of the Amber Valley in Derbyshire. The parishes of our four churches are a Mission and Ministry Area within the Diocese of Derby and the Church of England.

We believe we can live out our Christian faith by "working and playing together, with God, for people" - this is the motto of the Amber Churches. To learn more about us and our churches, have a look round our website - and we hope we will be able to greet you soon in person.

The Revd Ralph Lawrence
Rector

Our Faith - Christianity

Maybe you have questions about what it means to be a Christian - what we believe, how a man called Jesus who died 2000 years ago can be saviour and a friend. Please click on this link to learn more about Christianity.

Our Lifeline - Prayer

A small group of church members pray regularly in confidence for special concerns and for the community; if you would like prayer for yourself or a situation, please telephone the Rector.

If you would like to see how Christians talk to God through prayer, or get hints on how to set about this, please click on this link.

Prayer of the Month

At this time of Harvest we pray:

Loving God,
we give thanks for those who produce our food:
for farmers and fishermen, factory and shop workers.
We pray for those for whom this has been a difficult year:
farmers who have battled the weather to grow food,
delivery drivers and shop workers who kept working despite the pandemic.
Help us to value and support each other.
In Jesus’ name. Amen
